The Department of Regional Planning at the Faculty of Urban Planning holds a panel discussion

The Department of Regional Planning at the Faculty of Urban Planning – University of Kufa – and within the “Google Meet” program, held a panel discussion entitled “Examining the reliability of a scientific journal affiliated with the Scopus database” on Wednesday, 4/26/2023.
The seminar aims to shed light on methods of examining a scientific journal and ensuring its reliability before sending scientific research for publication.
The lecturer, teacher Hisham Adnan Al-Mimar, dealt with several methods and mechanisms that must be followed in order to ensure that a journal is accredited first, including knowing the journal‘s data on its page on the Scopus website, as well as examining the journal and the publishing house in the sites approved by the Ministry that they are not hijacked or predatory.
The episode concluded that it is necessary for the researcher to know the methods of examining reliability so that he does not fall prey to kidnapping and his efforts go in vain, and he also has to avoid commercial magazines that only seek financial profit.
